  • I hate sirens .. & packing .. & beggars

I hate it when sirens go blaring (bloop-bleep-bloop-bleep) in the night. It makes me feel so unsafe and irritates the nightly peace. And people will stop and stare at the trucks rumbling past with their flashing lights. An exceptional hazard - human traffic obstruction, irritant and distraction!

Back from the roadtrip with my plunder/damage, finally, thank god! My car needs some major cleaning. I can’t stand my seats dirty and seeing rain stains and water spots on my car hood and windshield and mirrors and grubby prints on the dashboard and steering wheel. I miss my maid! (and not just at times like these)

Now that I’m back in Minn, it’s time for some serious organization and planning and packing! I have to vacate the current place by Aug 31 at 12 pm and the landlord for the new place says Aug 31 is the move-in date but refused to provide a set time for when the keys are available (claiming too many properties to go attend to to provide an exact time frame). Okay, understandable! But I don’t wanna have to move my stuff all the way to a friend’s place, making multiple trips back and forth to bring stuff there and then back and forth again to bring stuff back. But I can’t possibly wait on the sidewalk with my boxes and furniture right? Or can I? Might be interesting to be ‘homeless’ for a bit.

On a side note, I think it’s deplorable to be able-bodied but hold up a cardboard plaque declaring ‘Homeless, please help in my battle’ or ‘Hungry, no food for days’ or even ‘Need money for weed’ and then plead for money from pedestrians. I especially hate it when they are swaggerishly rude when you completely ignore them. A lot of weed-related signs (particular ones “I’m yours if you give me money for weed” and “sex for weed” or sth like that) at Fisherman’s Wharf in SFO but I remember a particular elderly black gentleman who hid in a garbage bin and scared people walking past. It was particularly entertaining throughout lunch because we were at an awesome vantage point, dining diagonally upwards from this setting. He then proceeded to ask for a couple dollars and most people willingly gave some for the entertainment. Well, something like this definitely beats just holding up a sign and acting all pitiful and whatnot. Or, just work! In reality not everyone can get a 10k/mth job but people should still strive to achieve whatever possible. I’m sure pay from a Macdonald’s job yields more than a day of begging in the sweltering summer weather!
